This is Amber Lynn.

She likes cookouts, Monopoly, and Sarah McLachlan. She dislikes ambiguity, authority, and buses that have an advert covering the entire side.

In her native Texas, Amber Lynn frequently clashed against what she viewed as a self defeating backward mindset that pervaded her area. The local magistrate who served as Amber Lynn’s guardian finally became fed up with the young girl’s antics and persuaded her to take any opportunity to escape the area.

Upon turning eighteen, she joined the GoobNet staff in MAY 2007 with her introductory work, “It’s a Pleasure to Meet Y’all”, which critics hailed as “still a work in progress” and “needlessly repetitive and self-indulgent”.

In between writing workshops and GoobNet assignments, Amber Lynn enjoys visiting strip clubs, where she says she gets “a lot of thinking done”. Her last act before leaving Texas was to file a change of name form, taking “Amber Lynn” as her full name. She prefers that it be used in its full form, without being shortened, feeling that this captures the usage of a generic stripper name.

Amber Lynn’s most embarrassing moment involved an eventual coworker and, what’s worse, was captured for posterity in “Out of Space”, an article on the very same website where she now works. The incident with Deb remains in the back of Amber Lynn’s mind today, even though Deb has long since put it behind her.

She likes human space exploration, whether by government organisations or by private enterprise.

She dislikes those in positions of power whose behaviour doesn’t seem to correspond with their stated value systems.
