Some recent changes

Yes, there have been some recent changes. You probably considered them all pointless exercises in futility. Maybe you were right, but look at this. This is the kind of thing that really makes people like you wrong. How many times have you been thinking to yourself that this guy can never do anything substantial? You were completely wrong, weren't you? Admit it. I won't hold it against you.

Okay, so now that this is out of the way, what else is there? One possibility: Programming. I'm starting to work in the Laboratory for Spacecraft and Mission Design, so that's interesting. The Integrated Concurrent Engineering Trajectory Optimisation Program doesn't work right, so I'm part of the team that's fixing it. Genetic algorithms and simulated annealing are just some of the things that we have to work out.

Incidentally, you could win a prize if you realise what major Web site was one of my influences as far as the new layout of GoobNet. I don't know what kind of prize, but it might even be good.

Another recent change is that things are going wack here. I'm doing things that I never did in previous occasions. I'm up at odd hours [for a Techer, that is], and I'm doing so many things that you may not be able to follow exactly how I spend my time. I'm involving myself in quite a bit of Internet work recently, what with this here site being refurbished, that site over at Caltech SEDS, and perhaps more. I'm still crunching numbers for the Caltech Mars Society Mission, and I'm looking for a place to live. I'm still doing some work on munbers, although as you've noticed, that gets lost in the shuffle frequently. I hope to resurrect it very soon.

However, there are still some new things that must come. You'll notice the Sonique skin in Multimedia, and I plan to accompany that with things like photographs from my world. I am also considering the addition of more Junk, even though none has come my way recently. I think that it's very useful for everyone, so it's good to have around.

Why haven't things been moving more quickly recently? Ask someone else.

You can still reach me easily by sending something to goober@its.caltech.edu. That message would proceed directly to my PC in 45 Ricketts, the all new Suite. My Suite is probably in its final state, although I may want to install one more curtain. I like all that I've done in my frosh year, and I hope I can increase my productivity in Year Two of my Caltech Era.

All of this is reflected in GoobNet's new slogan, "The Best Site You'll Ever Ignore". So join us for a fourth season of all new material here on GoobNet. Remember: The longer you ignore it, the more new it will appear next time.
