WEEKLY WHINE
There are 150 seats in the Australian House of Representatives. 140 of these seats have been called by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation based on the results of Saturday’s election. This leaves ten more up for grabs.
As more vote counts are finalised, the prospect of a hung house draws closer: the ABC is predicting that the ruling coalition will end up with 73 seats, the Labor Party with 71, and other candidates with six seats.
Everything, therefore, depends upon the seats that are still up for grabs. But how well do you know the people who are trying to grab these seats? Drag the pairs of leading candidates below onto the electorates they are contending. Then click the button to see how many you have correct, and repeat the process until you have all ten correct. If required, contact Michael Winslow and have him produce the appropriate sound effects whilst you are participating in this activity.
