WEEKLY WHINE
Results of 2014 US ballot measures
As you are no doubt aware, the United States elections on TUE 04 NOV 2014 were a success for the Republican Party, which claimed a majority in the US Senate and increased its majority in the US House of Representatives.
Last week, we informed you of the appropriate way to vote on all 146 state ballot measures. Due to a clerical error which is not the fault of anyone in particular – though we are now glaring pointedly at you, Arizona secretary of state Ken Bennett – we omitted District of Columbia Initiative 71, on which we totally would have recommended a yes vote.
So that leaves a total of 147 ballot measures at the state or equivalent level. How did you, the voters, do? Join us as we review your performance.

So, you followed our advice 54% of the time. This leads to the obvious question: why should we bother? Sure, there were the occasional states where you actually listened to us, like Colorado and Washington. But in Maine, you only agreed with us on bear hunting, and in places like Nevada and Alabama, you ignored us completely.
We here at GoobNet are obviously going to have to reassess whether we will continue to provide this service to you in future.
Oh, who are we kidding? We love to provide you services of which you don’t take advantage.
