WEEKLY WHINE
2015 GoobNet Nunavut Island Championship: Seedings
We are pleased to announce the seeds for the first GoobNet Nunavut Island Championship, determining the best island in Nunavut.
Eligibility was open to all islands contained partially or wholly within Nunavut, and the islands were then seeded according to population and total land area. At the bottom of the list, you will find some geologically or historically important islands that qualified for the tournament in favour of larger islands.
As you can see, the regional semifinals and finals are to be hosted by four waterways critical to the territory of Nunavut: Foxe Basin, Baffin Bay, the Gulf of Boothia, and Parry Channel. We will begin the tournament next week right here on GoobNet, so be sure to join us then. Until that time, please begin thinking about how to fill out your bracket. If you are successful, you will receive your very own Nunavummiuq island. But hurry, as the prizes are going fast. You totally don’t want to be stuck with J Gordon Island. That place is so worthless, it makes Weston Island look like Haig-Thomas Island.
