Numeric review of Landon

There now follows a ranking of the top shirt numbers Landon Donovan has worn for the United States.

1. 10: Most of Donovan’s finest moments in the US shirt have been when it had a 10 on the back. In addition to the 2010 Men’s World Cup, he also wore 10 at four Men’s Gold Cups and two Confederations Cups, including the 2009 edition when the US famously defeated Spain and took a 2-0 lead [the second goal by Donovan] in the final against Brazil. Also, can you believe this? Go, go USA!
2. 21: During the first few years of Donovan’s time with the senior team, he wore the number 21 if Claudio Reyna was in the squad. This includes the 2002 and 2006 Men’s World Cups. In 2002, Donovan scored two goals – including one against Mexico – and was named the best young player at the tournament.
3. 13: Donovan wore the number 13 shirt at the 2000 Olympic football tournament in Australia. He played in four matches and scored one goal.
